The Visayan spotted deer is an endangered species of deer that exhibits nocturnal behavior. It can be readily identified among other deer species in the Philippines by its unique "A" pattern of beige spots that adorn its deep brown back and sides.
Additionally, this deer possesses distinctive cream underparts and white fur on the chin and lower lip. Its head and neck display a lighter shade of brown compared to the body, while the eyes are encircled by paler fur. Male deer of this species are larger than females and feature short, thick, and bumpy antlers.
